Dynamic Dwelling

This 1990’s two-story was given a new lease on life when the floor plan was reconfigured to fit the lifestyle of a young family. What was once a formal dining room was divided into a butler’s pantry and expanded footprint kitchen, which includes custom cabinetry, two dishwashers, a 10′ island, a 60″ range and a coffee bar. What used to be an office/playroom space was turned into a library with built-in bookcases and the back hallway was reconfigured to include built-in lockers and a boot wash station. New flooring and details in the form of wallpaper and decorative paneling was utilized throughout the renovated spaces to give an updated aesthetic. The upstairs bedrooms were given a fairy-tale feel with whimsical wallpaper and dreamy pastel-painted built-ins.

Bright Bungalow

This 1960’s Tudor home was brought back to dazzling life with a renovation and addition. The entrance of the home was relocated to what formerly was a parlor room to create a symmetrical front facade and add a covered front porch. The formal dining room was transformed into the living room with a new fireplace and the dining room was relocated into the space of the former breakfast nook. A two-story addition allowed for the repositioning of the kitchen to a more central and open location on the main floor. A hearth room with limestone fireplace surround was added off of the kitchen and the former location of the kitchen was transformed into a mudroom, wet bar, drop station and powder room. Where the old powder room once was now stands a walk-in pantry adjacent to the new kitchen. The primary suite was updated with minor layout changes and cosmetic updates and the home’s previous office space became a cozy nursery. The lower level has been updated and expanded to incorporate ample space for children and adults alike to lounge, read, entertain or play. Saturated colors, dynamic artwork and rich millwork details throughout give this stunning home a vibrant aesthetic that compliments the highly functional changes to the flow of this bright bungalow.

Cape Revival

The renovation of this traditional style residence brought new life to many areas of the home.  The front entryway and staircase were updated with new design elements and materials to rejuvenate, yet compliment the original design of the home. The kitchen layout was rearranged to include an island with a custom-built banquette and table. Our Custom Shop built new cabinetry to match what was existing and had existing cabinetry refinished and reused in new ways. Doors were removed and doorways expanded to open up the flow of the main spaces to one another. New wood flooring was laid with herringbone inset details. Stunning details were added in the form of custom-crafted built-ins and millwork. The overall impact of this renovation gave new life to an already stunning home.

Designed with ample gathering space in mind, this remodeled refuge combines subtle elegance with coastal charm.  A two-story addition above the garage of the existing home allowed for the flow of the main spaces to be reworked, the addition of entertaining space as well as new sleeping spaces completing the upper level. On the main level, a game room was added, complete with a handcrafted built-in bar, billiards table and lounge space. The layout of the kitchen, laundry and powder room were reworked and revived with cheerful palettes and functional updates.  The upper level bedrooms added sleeping space for family and guests alike.

Midnight Glam

The luxurious design of this master bedroom suite remodel and addition showcases how texture can make all the difference in a room with a monochromatic palette. Dark and moody, the subtle changes in textiles add dimension and drama to the bedroom. A special automotive-finish paint technique was utilized on the walls to achieve a two-tone look. The trimwork detailing oozes a luxurious feel while glittery accents in the carpet and tile add glamour. A custom-designed and built, granite, floating vanity is perfectly placed amidst custom designed, tiger mosaic tile in the bathroom. The spacious shower features custom-built niches, frameless glass doors and a peek-a-boo window into the bedroom with etched glass. Other special details of this renovation, like smoked glass shelving and tone-on-tone custom built-ins in the closet are what set this addition apart and make it as unique as the clients for which it was created.

Refined Retreat

Perched on a steep bluff with a survey of the lake, this Lake Michigan home was designed and built with an awareness of the water, capturing both clean functionality and a calm flow within its extensively remodeled walls.  The modern-inspired exterior of contrasting dark metal and neutral facade greet those from the drive with a blend of simple lines and forms, and light touches of added warmth.

Shades of white and black, tempered by soothing wooden tones, are woven throughout the home.  Sightlines flow effortlessly within the main level spaces, from the expansive living room to the reoriented kitchen with crisp, clean lines and minimalistic cabinetry.  The design of all main level spaces is anchored by the views of the lake beyond the sliding glass doors leading to the raised deck.  With a reconfigured layout, the master suite is both comfortable and updated with a soothing palette.  Custom metal railings adorn the rejuvenated staircase leading to the home’s addition of an upper level, which includes two bedroom suites.  The lower level includes an expansive rec room, theater room, lakeside bathroom and exercise room, complete with sauna.

Lakeview Haven

Renovated back to life, this transitional cottage has an open floor plan, delightful design details and is filled with sophisticated colors and finishes. A large addition and reallocation of interior spaces transformed this home into a five bedroom, three and half bathroom retreat.

Barrel rooflines define the exterior space with a contemporary look, while the board and batten siding and stone details add a traditional flare. The main floor boasts a gourmet kitchen with a decorative metal range hood and expansive island prep space. The adjacent dining room maximizes waterfront views with two large sets of sliding glass doors that lead to the exterior deck space. The cathedral ceiling and transom windows of the living room create an open space that is grounded by the cozy feel of the shiplap walls, stone fireplace and stained wood ceiling details. A den with triple pocket doors give the added flexibility of opening the space up to the sun porch, where pristine lake views abound. A mud, powder room and a lake changing room complete the main level.

The upper level of the home is accessible by a grand staircase at the center of the home, with custom-turned newel posts. Upstairs, visitors arrive at a sitting room with built-in reading nook overlooking the living room below. The master suite wing includes stunning details like a barrel vaulted ceiling, a wardrobe with built-in storage and seating as well as a master bathroom with a metal-skirted soaking tub and custom-built double vanity, surrounded by marble tile. Urban Oasis

Located in the heart of a 1920’s urban neighborhood, this classically designed home went through a dramatic transformation. Several updates over the years had rendered the space dated and feeling disjointed.  The main level received cosmetic updates to the kitchen, dining, formal living and family room to bring the decor out of the 90’s and into the 21st century.  Space from a coat closet and laundry room was reallocated to the transformation of a storage closet into a stylish powder room.  Upstairs, custom cabinetry, built-ins, along with fixture and material updates revamped the look and feel of the bedrooms and bathrooms.  But the most striking alterations occurred on the home’s exterior, with the addition of a 24′ x 52′ pool complete with built-in tanning shelf, programmable LED lights and bubblers as well as an elevated spa with waterfall feature.  A custom pool house was added to compliment the original architecture of the main home while adding a kitchenette, changing facilities and storage space to enhance the functionality of the pool area.  The landscaping received a complete overhaul and Oaks Rialto pavers were added surrounding the pool, along with a lounge space shaded by a custom-built pergola.  These renovations and additions converted this residence from well-worn to a stunning, urban oasis.
