A. SCH is celebrating 25 years building custom homes.
Q. What size/style of homes does Scott Christopher Homes specialize in?
A. Scott Christopher Homes specializes in high end new home construction for clients who demand accurate proposals, expert service and a high level of professionalism. We have a portfolio with hundreds of successful projects ranging from 26,000 square foot homes to 1500 sq foot cottages and everything in between.
Q. In what geographical region do you build?
A. Although we build primarily in West Michigan and along the lakeshore, we have completed projects in Northern and Southern Michigan as well as Indiana, Iowa and Florida.
Q. What if I don’t have an architect or an interior designer?
A. We work with a variety of top design professionals and will work with you to find the perfect match.
Q. How many employees are on the SCH team?
A. SCH employs 27 talented individuals dedicated to providing clients the homes they have always wanted.
Q. Do you build custom cabinetry?
A. Yes, SCH owns and operates The Custom Shop where skilled artisans create custom cabinetry and unique wood treatments of the highest quality. We also work with outside manufacturers and prebuilt cabinetry to best fit clients’ needs, schedule and budget.
Q. How does your billing process work?
A. We work on an open book, cost plus basis. Itemized bills showing invoices for completed work and material will be presented every two weeks. Clients will see actual invoices and will receive any builder discounts passed on to us.
Q. Is SCH involved in any community service work?
A. The SCH team, both personally and professionally are involved with charitable organizations. (ex. Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Home Repair Services, Habitat for Humanity, Gilda’s Club, Susan Komen Race for the Cure, God’s Littlest Angels Orphanage)

A. Yes. HBAGGR, Economic Club of Grand Rapids, Green Built Michigan, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and more.
Q. Do you do remodeling work?
A. Yes! SCH sister company, Surpass Renovations has earned a reputation as a company that consistently exceeds the expectation of homeowners, architects and designers throughout the building process and beyond. Our renovation projects range from multimillion dollar properties to small bathroom remodels.
Q. Do you build LEED certified homes?
A. Yes! SCH is committed to green building practices and is the only West Michigan residential builders to have a LEED accredited Professional on staff. If LEED certification is important to you, SCH has the people and experience to make it happen. Please inquire to learn more about our most recent LEED certified home.
Q. What kind of warranty does SCH provide?
A. Two years on our work, plus guaranteed manufacturers warranties

A. Yes. The Surpass Service Division – Our service team ensures that all of your maintenance and service needs are met. We provide you with one contact in which all your needs related to the care of your home will be met and addressed in a timely matter.
